See if your local church has any volunteering opportunities. If not, that's a perfect opportunity to make new ones! Ideas from other premeds: food/clothing/toiletry drives, mission trips, bible study teacher/assistant, and lector/usher services.
-
If there aren't opportunities immediately there for you, MAKE THEM! This says a lot about your work ethic, drive, leadership, and desire to make a difference. Ideas from other premeds: initiate local cleanups, make care packages for military, create survival packs for the homeless, seek elderly neighbors in need of house/yard work, offer your talents to the community (ex. play your violin for patients in nursing homes/rehab centers/long-term care facilities, teach those with special needs how to cook basic meals, or read to children at a daycare).
