If you missed our last Peer Mentor event, our co-chairs went over a three year plan for premedical classes, volunteer opportunities, and more! Below, each year is broken down to key classes to keep in mind for your schedule, and other things you should prepare for along the way!
Below is a poll by UARK Pre-med students identifying the most helpful classes for MCAT preparation on a scale of 1-5.
On the subject of the MCAT, there is some key information that you should remember. The information that you are studying should NOT be new to you. Your premedical courses are meant to prepare you for all the material you will see on the MCAT. It is important to find out how you study and to study continuously. This is a critical skill to have to ensure that you are prepared to put your best effort forward. Study materials we recommend you consider are Kaplan, UWorld, Blueprint (practice tests), AAMC (practice tests), and Examkrackers.
Overall, take classes that interest you! This can expose you to different fields of work that you may not have considered, giving you a backup plan. You might change your mind or find something more interesting along the way! Be sure to check out the Honors College Signature Seminars, Colloquia, and the Med School Forum. And remember, don't forget about your humanities classes!!
